Animated Short - Group Project

I worked on this during the fall 2021 semester over a 15 week period.

Set Dressing

Rendered Turntables of foliage assets

I set dressed and rendered miniature island sets in order to show off my teammates modeling and surfacing work in a look dev rig. I set dressed each individual asset to create a dynamic set piece for the turntable.

Modeling

Below is a collection of some of the assets that I modeled and UV unwrapped. I modeled the majority of my assets in Maya with the exception of some procedural modeling done in Houdini before exporting to Unreal.

Texturing

I was responsible for texturing the lily pads and the foxgloves

Rigging Overview

  • I began with a rig draw over to break down exactly how my team wanted our character to be made

  • I rigged the biped with an IK/FK switch by hand

  • I used blend shapes for facial expressions

I worked with NG skin tools to speed up the weight painting process.

Project Management

To keep organized, I created an asset list and production schedule for myself in order to stay on track throughout the weeks. A copy of my schedule and additional project management documents can be found here.
